Comic strip card featuring Hello Bluebird

Hello! Today, I’m sharing a card using some gorgeous Hello Bluebird stamps. I have been admiring this company’s products for a while, and when I discovered they ship internationally for a flat rate of $8 USD, I couldn’t resist buying some things. The shipping was fast and the stamps and dies are great quality - I highly recommend Hello Bluebird.

For this card I started by stamping the images on Crafters Companion Neenah Classic Crest cardstock with Momento Tuxedo black ink. I coloured them using a mixture of Copic markers and Spectrum Noir markers, then trimmed them out using the coordinating dies. I don’t always buy matching dies, but some of these images are quite intricate, so I decided to get them this time. I also cut two of Lawn Fawn’s  Peekaboo Backdrop frames from plain white cardstock and layered them together.

I used Distress Inks to ink blend the panel at the back of the scene, using my favourite combination of inks for a sunset/sunrise sky - fossilized amber, abandoned coral and seedless preserves. I then lay out the images where I wanted them, using the frame as a guide, and adhered them using glue. I added the frame, then heat embossed a white sentiment on black cardstock and added it to the front.

I attached the completed panel to a card made from Lawn Fawn sunflower cardstock, and finally continued the sentiment inside and added the cute little lion I had coloured and die cut, but not used on the front.

I hope you enjoy this card. I really had fun making it and I’m looking forward to using more of my Hello Bluebird stamp sets soon.
