Hello Bluebird and Lawn Fawn - pop-up box card

I love combining stamp sets to create a new look and when I saw the gorgeous ‘North Star’ set from Hello Bluebird, I knew I wanted to use it for more than just Happy New Year cards. After delving into my stamps, I came up with this Lawn Fawn ‘Plane and Simple’ set, which I thought would work perfectly with the critters gazing skyward.

I stamped the images I wanted, onto Neenah Classic Crest cardstock and coloured them with a combination of Spectrum Noir and Copic alcohol markers. I then fussy cut them out, leaving a thin white ‘halo’ around the edge.

I cut a Scalloped Pop-up Box card from Lawn Fawn Mermaid cardstock using the Lawn Fawn die. I die cut the front, side and back panels, along with the grassy borders, from Bristol smooth card stock and used ‘Mowed Lawn’ and ‘Salty Ocean’ distress inks to colour them. I added drops of water, which I blotted with paper towel, to create some interest.  I stamped the sentiment in Lawn Fawn ‘Blue Jay’ ink.
Finally, I assembled the card and added the coloured images to create my scene.
